It’s like CNN has had enough because the news media’s credibility was at stake. Few hours ago, Christopher Charles Cuomo, 51, the junior brother of the disgraced former New York governor, has been suspended indefinitely by CNN where he worked as a reporter.
The father of 3 children gained notoriety as the former presenter of Cuomo Prime Time, a weeknight news analysis show on CNN. No doubt, he was a very successful journalist.
Before moving to CNN in 2013, Cuomo was the ABC News chief law and justice correspondent, and he was the primary reporter on breaking news stories, both in the U.S and around the world.
Cuomo was suspended indefinitely by CNN, following reports that he assisted in the defense against the harassment allegations that led to Andrew Cuomo’s resignation.
While working with CNN, he once interviewed his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. In fact, he was the perfect, suitable journalist to conduct that interview, and he did a marvelous job.
Ignoring his obvious conflict of interest, Cuomo participated in strategic discussions to advise his brother on how to respond to the allegations.
CNN saw his engagement in the conversations as inappropriate and a violation of journalistic norms, but CNN understood his need to put family first and job second. Therefore, no disciplinary action was taken against him.
Cuomo did apologize and stated that advising his brother was a mistake, and promised it would never happen again. According to him, this is the advice he gave his brother.
“My advice to my brother was simple and consistent: Own what you did, tell people what you’ll do to be better, be contrite, and finally, accept that it doesn’t matter what you intended.”
Two dasy ago, to be precise, on November 29, 2021, the New York attorney general’s office released documents that show Chris Cuomo used his media sources to uncover information about accusers who came forward with UNCONSENTED $€XUAL allegations against his brother.

Based on these developments, CNN released a statement which says “The thousands of pages of additional transcripts and exhibits that were released today by the NY Attorney General deserve a thorough review and consideration.”
After carefully examining the whole issues, CNN decided to suspend Chris Cuomo indefinitely.
While confirming Cuomo’s suspension, CNN released a statement via it’s website as well as its spokesperson which reads:
“CNN is suspending prime time anchor Chris Cuomo “indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” after new documents revealed the cozy and improper nature of his relationship with aides to his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew.”
