It seems the custody battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has no end in sight, as they are now battling over their $164M France chateau.

Angelina Jolie who was believed to have caused the break-up between Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, filed for divorce from Brad Pitt about 5 years ago.

Still, they have a long way to go when it comes to settling their legal differences, and their divorce has gotten even messier.

The couple who was nicknamed ‘Brangelina’ by the media during their reigning days, fell apart probably due to the so-called celebrities palava. They divorced after spending 11 years together.

Jolie, 46, and Pitt, 57, have been fighting over custody of five of their six kids namely: Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and 13-year-old twins (Vivienne and Knox.)

Their kids are the only thing the Brangelina are at odds over. Jolie allegedly tried to sell her stake in the $164 million French estate without initially consulting Pitt. This goes against what the former couple allegedly agreed upon before their divorce in 2016. Hence Pitt sued her again.

The French estate is owned and controlled by Quimicum, of which both Pitt and Jolie have equal ownership. It is the same estate where Pitt and Jolie got married in 2014.

Jolie has successfully got the private judge, Judge Ouderkirk, tossed from the case, and Pitt’s attorneys have issues with the temporary judge appointed. According to Melcher, founding partner of Walzer Melcher family law.

“Brad wanted Judge Ouderkirk to rule on his request for more time with the couple’s children, which Angelina opposed. When Judge Ouderkirk ruled against her, Angelina had the judge removed. That was proper according to the court of appeal, but it delays resolution of the dispute between the parties that has lasted five years. The custody decisions will have to be tried again with a new judge, unless Brad can convince the California Supreme Court to keep Judge Ouderkirk in place.”

According to Pitt’s attorneys, “We are seeking review in the California Supreme Court because the temporary judge, who had been appointed and repeatedly renewed by both sides, was improperly disqualified after providing a detailed, fact-based custodial decision, following a lengthy legal process with multiple witnesses and experts.”

Pitt’s attorneys want the California Supreme Court to overturn a decision dismissing the private judge overseeing the couple’s custody fight.

Jolie’s attorneys on the other hand, argue without providing any evidence that “this sort of gamesmanship, a last-ditch effort by a celebrity litigant seeking special treatment, is not what this Court’s limited review resources are for.”
