A few days ago, a female beggar in Nigeria was arrested for being in possession of a huge sum of money. Begging on the streets is a practice that is common all over the world, but begging is often done by people who are very poor.
Hadiza Ibrahim was arrested at the Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, in Wuse 2 District in Abuja, Nigeria, after she was caught with a huge sum of money amounting to N500,000 and a $100 note.
According to police, Hadiza is undergoing profiling because she has not yet explained how she came by the money that was found on her.

Actress Chita Agwu Johnson believes some of the beggars are criminals and she urged the public to stop encouraging them to be beggars.
“We really need to stop encouraging those terrorists in traffic claiming to be beggars, harassing you, and foaming your driver’s window side when you refuse to part with your money! This is harassment and we need to stop encouraging these criminals,” she said.
