Last week, a national manhunt was declared to search for the 6 Palestinian prisoners who escaped from a high-security jail in Israel.

Two of the fugitives were reportedly captured in Nazareth, while two others, including the notorious terror commander Zakaria Zubeidi, were apprehended in the nearby town of Shibli–Umm al-Ghanam.

According to police, Arab Israelis who encountered the fugitives reported them to authorities.

However, two of their fellow escapees are still on the run after breaking out of Gilboa Prison.

There are conflicting reports regarding their escape. Some news media reported that the prisoners got outside help who masterminded the jailbreak and drove them away in a vehicle.

Others say that the prisoners acted alone, and they had traveled on foot the entire time. Hence they were exhausted and ran out of food.

Hebrew media reported that two of the escapees requested food from residents of Nazareth, who rejected their request and instead alerted the police.
