The Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage, 41, is currently in the U.S where she is promoting her latest album Water and Garri.
While in the U.S, she was interviewed by radio host Angie Martinez of Power 105.1 in New York.
In the interview, Tiwa confirmed the fact that her sex-tape was mistakenly posted on Snapchat by her lover who deleted it after he realized his error, but it was too late because the video had already been downloaded by a stalker.
She said, “I am not going to call it a sex tape but it’s a tape between me and the person I am dating right now.”
Up till now, her fans were still kept in the dark about the fact that she was already in a relationship after separating from Wizkid who is also a prominent Nigerian artist.
After revealing that she is being blackmailed over the so-called tape, she insisted she was not going to give in to extortion.
She said she won’t pay the blackmailer for it because she was not going to allow anyone to blackmail her for “doing something that is natural”.
She added that she could put it out there herself because she is that crazy. “I am that crazy I could put it out myself .”
Tiwa who is signed to Universal Music Group said she cried when she first saw the video and feared the reaction.
She don’t want this issue to overshadow her career. In her own words: “Why now, when the music is so good and I don’t want this to overshadow what’s going on.”
