The word ‘Megxit’ was conned from ‘Brexit.’ Brexit stands for the exit of the United Kingdom (U.K) from the European Union (E.U)

Megxit is an informal noun that is used in describing the exit of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and his American wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex from British royal family duties.

In 2017, Queen Elizabeth, 94, appointed Prince Harry Captain-General of the Royal Marines – a title that Prince Philip had previously held for 64 years.

On 8 January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan took to Instagram to announce their decision to step back from their royal duties and live as normal citizens.

An agreement was announced whereby the couple would “no longer be working members of Britain’s royal family”, and would not use their “Royal Highness” styles.

According to the agreement, a twelve-month review period was put in place in case the couple changed their minds, but as far as the couple was concerned, giving it a second thought was ruled out.

Therefore, Buckingham Palace had no other option than to yield to their request.

THE BOMBSHELL SCANDAL INTERVIEW — In February 2021 after their exit from the Royal family duties, Prince Harry and Meghan gave a bombshell revelation in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan revealed to Oprah Winfrey that she and Harry exchanged wedding vows in their backyard just three days ahead of their May 19 nuptials at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

It turns out that the backyard ceremony was not official because there were no required witnesses. Critics are therefore claiming that Meghan lied in her interview with Oprah.

The major bombshell in the interview was when Meghan revealed that she “didn’t want to be alive anymore” during her pregnancy with Archie due to racism in the royal family, because there were several “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born,”

The issue of how hard her baby’s skin color might be was raised by an unnamed member of the family. Meghan added that this was part of the conversations the royal family had with Harry. But they declined to mention the particular person who raised the issue about the baby’s skin color because according to Meghan, “That would be very damaging to them.”

In one of the most stunning revelations from the interview, Meghan revealed that life within the royal family was so isolating and lonely. Even Harry revealed that he has often seen Meghan crying while breastfeeding their child.

Harry who described the royals as “a very trapping environment that a lot of them are stuck in,” also criticized the royals for failing to support them when lawmakers pointed out “colonial undertones” in the way that Meghan was covered in the British press.

The security provided to the royal family comes from taxpayers. Meghan revealed in the interview that she, Prince Harry, and Archie were told they would not receive royal protection. This is probably because they already stepped down from their royal duties.

Meghan told Oprah that the royals are a family business. The royals are reportedly not pleased about this statement. The Palace was not contacted by Oprah to participate in or respond to the interview.
