After the Taliban creepily urged women to join the government, they went ahead to form an all-male government without allowing any woman to be part of it.
Taliban spokesman Sayed Zekrullah Hashimi has now publicly said that women would not be allowed to serve in Afghanistan’s new government.
In an interview with the Afghan television network TOLO News, he said that women should focus on birthing and raising children.
He said that the idea of women serving in the government is just like prostitution.
He also likened the idea of allowing a woman to become a government minister to putting something on her neck that she cannot carry.
Taliban recently asked women in Afghanistan to stop going to work and stay at home.
While talking with the news presenter, Hashimi says: “It is not necessary for a woman to be in the cabinet.”
“Over the last 20 years, whatever was said by this media, the US, and its puppet government in Afghanistan, was it other than prostitution in offices?”
When the host told him that he can not accuse all women of prostitution, Hashimi replied: “I do not mean all Afghan women – the four women protesting in the streets do not represent the women of Afghanistan.“
“The women of Afghanistan are those who give birth to the people of Afghanistan, educates them on Islamic ethics.“
“She can not do the work of a ministry. You put something on her neck that she can not carry.”
