Over 100,000 Pro-EU protests took place in about 120 towns and cities across Poland on Sunday, 10. Oktober 2021.
The Poles took to the street to protest the court’s decision that seems to suggest that Poland will leave the European Union in the future.
Over 80,000 people gathered in the capital Warsaw alone, waving Polish and E.U flags and shouting “We are staying,’’ “We are staying.’’
Most politicians in Europe have voiced dismay at the ruling by Poland’s constitutional tribunal.
The protesters believe that their government wants to leave the E.U so that they can violate democratic rules with impunity.
The so-called ruling which endangers Poland’s future in Europe, has thrown relations between the E.U and Warsaw into a crisis.
